Far EasTone Wins "Most Innovative Mobile Service Campaign" For Asurion's
Handset Insurance Service At
Asian MobileNews Awards 2006
SINGAPORE 13 July 2006 - Asurion Asia Pacific, leading provider of mobile protection services for the wireless telecommunications industry, is pleased to announce that their partner, Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET), has won the "Most Innovative Mobile Service Campaign Award" for their Handset Insurance Service at the prestigious Asian MobileNews Awards 2006. The award is a regional recognition for outstanding corporate achievements in the mobile telecommunications industry presented by The Charlton Media Group, a leading business publisher based in Singapore.
An annual event, the Asian MobileNews Awards selects winners through nominations by the magazine's readers from March to May 2005. Finalists for each category were shortlisted by Asian MobileNews magazine based on market presence.
Asurion collaborated with FET from February this year to launch a Handset Insurance program to all subscribers that purchased a new mobile phone. The service protects subscribers from handset loss, theft or damage. In the event of mobile perils, the subscriber will be compensated with a replacement phone or reimbursement of the phone repair fees.
