Asurion Technology And Logistics Center Receives ISO Certification

NASHVILLE, Tenn., 14 June 2005 - Tennessee-based Asurion's Technology and Logistics Center (TLC) has received an ISO 9001:2000 certification by the Lloyd's Register Group (LRG), the company announced today.

Asurion is the leading provider of specialty insurance and other marketing services to the wireless telecommunications industry. The TLC handles forward logistics, reverse logistics, wireless device triage, asset recovery, and wireless device repair for many of the nation's top wireless carriers.

The certification follows a lengthy review process by LRG, an independent risk management organization providing risk assessment and risk mitigation solutions and management systems around the world.

Asurion's TLC, based in Rutherford County, is staffed by 900 workers where repairs and refurbishments are made to wireless handsets and other products through the company's warranty and insurance services for subscribers of the world's leading wireless carriers.

"Among our major competitors, Asurion is the only organization with an ISO9001:2000 certified technology and logistics operation," said Stuart Smith, SVP and head of the TLC. "From a business and personnel standpoint, this certification tells us that we're doing our job and doing it right. Our main goal is providing top-notch customer service, both for our wireless service providers and their customers, and to receive this certification is very rewarding."

According to LRQA, ISO 9001:2000 is a processed-based certification, which recognizes organizations that can link business objectives with operating effectiveness. Companies that have achieved this certification excel in a core set of eight quality management principles, including: customer focus; leadership; involvement of people; a process approach; a system approach to management; continual improvement; a factual approach to decision making; and, a mutually beneficial supplier relationship.

Bret Comolli, CEO of Asurion said, "Our commitment across the board is to provide the best in customer service and to be an industry leader when it comes to quality management. We've invested in the right people and the right processes to get the job done. To be recognized at this high of a level is a source of pride for us all."
